The Futurological Festival is a project by Eurac Research, initiated by the Center for Advanced Studies.

– Eurac Research

Eurac Research is a private research center based in Bozen-Bolzano (South Tyrol) with researchers from a wide variety of scientific fields who come from all over the globe. Together, through scientific knowledge and research, they share the goal of shaping the future. Our research addresses the greatest challenges facing us in the future: people need health, energy, well-functioning political and social systems and an intact environment. These are complex questions, and we are seeking the answers in the interaction between many different disciplines.

– Center for Advanced Studies of Eurac Research

The Center for Advanced Studies at Eurac Research investigates social, economic, and political transformations through an interdisciplinary approach. Bringing together expertise in political science, sociology, economics, socioeconomics, and philosophy, the Center places a particular emphasis on Futures Studies and long-term thinking. Current research projects address a wide range of topics, including, among others, social cohesion in the aftermath of the pandemic, inequalities linked to the climate crisis and social mobility, new forms of collaboration between art and research, the sustainable future of tourism, hybrid threats and security, and the societal implications of emerging technologies.

“With the Futurological Festival, we aim to transform the conversation about the future into an open dialogue. Through artistic exhibitions and speeches, we will dive deeper into the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping possible futures, inviting artistic reflections on the tensions between utopian and dystopian scenarios, technological innovation and societal transformation.”
